Save by Making Blood knotsIt saves time, effort, material, and money. The biggest perk of all is that it's one of the strongest knots and that means fewer lost fish Timothy Kusherets
This is a knot tying together to different lines. Both sides of the knot represent spools of line that had lost over half of it making it very hard to cast and limiting how far I'd be able to fight bolting fish if only one or the other side of this line were used separately. Combining them saves time spent in the store and money that it would have taken to purchase them. It saves time, effort, material, and money. The biggest perk
of all is that it's one of the strongest knots and that means fewer lost fish.
Instead of throwing away line there is the option of tying two shorter lines
together. Blood knots make a great joiner when it comes to saving fishing line.
It’s a great fall back when there are days fish peel off excessive line
on all your reels, including backup spools. In a pinch, this knot can be tied
to two lines of equal strength and retains over 85 percent of its strength.
I’ve pulled in salmon that weighed over thirty-pounds while fishing with
lines tied together with a blood knot. © Timothy Kusherets 2007 |
