Shadow’s SakeMoving shadows get the attention of holding fish Timothy Kusherets ![]() Look at the position of my shadow and the seam in the background where the water changes from turquoise to muddy brown. I was able to get within casting distance of it without the threat of my shadow anywhere near the hold. This battling fish greedily struck the end of the line because it could not “feel” the pressure of me in the same area. Stay back and low whenever your shadow falls in the same direction of the hold. Move slowly whenever your shadow is cast upon the water. Moving shadows get the attention of holding fish and they will go off the bite. All shadows are construed as predators. Crouch if you must fish near or on the waterline. Getting down low will help to hide your presence. The lower the sun is behind your back the closer to the water you should get. If it's possible, get on the other side of holding schools of fish by either boating around them or wading to the other bank. This tip is good for fresh or saltwater fishing. © Timothy Kusherets 2007 |
