Trout Spinning

Every known kind of trout loves this technique

Timothy Kusherets

Using spinners for trout gets fish on the hook fast regardless of how fast or slow the water is. The difference between the successful fisherman and an unsuccessful one is “where” each cast is made. The easiest way to find the best holds is to look for “seams”. They identify varying currents where trout love to hold.
When fishing lakes, make each retrieval slow. The faster it is reeled in the closer to the surface it will be, conversely, the slower it is the lower it will sink.
Fishing rivers with spinners is not what most anglers would think about spinning for trout. Due to the blade acting more like a sail, it’s vital that spinners be cast out and drifted the same way one fish’s corkies or jigs. Let the current take it to the bottom, where the biggest and brightest fish hold.
Every known kind of trout loves this technique and if fish aren’t on the hook fast then change the spinner.
