Windshield Treatment for Fishing Trips

The finished product will give you a rain repellent windshield

Timothy Kusherets

Everyone has to go somewhere to fish and to do that most of us take cars, trucks, and bikes. This time of the year can be treacherous if you can’t see where you’re going down the road. Rain smears and will diminish vision but there is something you can do about it. Wash your windshield with any household glass cleaner and then apply Rain-X to it. If you don’t have access to it locally you can order it online. Apply it with a circular pattern starting from the top of the windshield working your way down. After a coat has been applied wait for ten to fifteen minutes and then reapply another coat. The first two times you do this there should be a cloudy smear and that means it’s working. On the third time over it make sure that you use a cloth towel. Now, clean off the smear with a counter-clockwise rotation, or the opposite of the first two. The finished product will give you a rain repellent windshield that works so well, the faster you drive the clearer the windshield becomes; however, this is not a recommendation to speed along the highway or back-roads.
Every other day reapply the same coatings and the windshield will become treated over the course of time, which will use less and less rain-x each time. The effect will be a virtually clear field of vision day or night no matter what the weather is.
I can never say it enough “you can’t be too safe when on a fishing trip”. With the proper precautions you can bet that the only thing you have to worry about is getting fish on the hook, and that’s what it’s all about.
Know your fish to catch more than ever!
