Native steelhead caught on the very first cast of the day! On the water at the crack of dawn, this great looking fish slammed the line!

Now is the time to get out and experience the world of fishing. There is no tomorrow! Don’t wait for that perfect day to fish, there’s no such thing. Every second spent fishing are moments of pure contentment that cannot be found with the drudgeries of daily workloads. Get out there when you can as often as you can!

Many species of fish can be hooked into year-round!

“Every single angler I've taken out on a “Fishing” trip has gotten fish. Some have gotten fish in a matter of minutes, some have gotten fish on the first cast, still other anglers have become expert in fresh and saltwater environments. Fishing isn't easy all the time but it can be most of the time if you know what to do.
I simply want to share fishing experiences that create an opportunity for each individual to understand just a little bit more than they had the day before, and in almost all cases that means more fish on the hook. Angling with understanding what, where, how, and why fishing works the way it does gets fish. It's that simple.
I guarantee that the more material you read on this Site, in my Book(s), and Articles will produce more fish than you ever thought possible. I've been researching anadromous species, experimenting with fishing applications, writing and publishing fishing material, and applying these techniques for over twenty-five years.
Since I fish both fresh and saltwater environments I've been able to create specific fishing techniques for Jigs, Corkies, Flies, Spoons, Spinners, Cheaters, Buzz-bombs, Zingers, Crippled Herring, Point Wilson Darts, Fillet Strips, Cut-plugs, Whole Herring, Smelt, Eggs, Worms, and Leeches. The list goes on and on to include many different types of gear as well.
The actual function of fishing is the last step in a series of events that must take place to ensure a successful day on the water. Anglers who have followed each logical step will have fish on the hook almost every single trip. My fishing successes are so consistent that anglers who know me will stop what they’re doing if they see me in water which can be a lake, river, stream, bay, cove, inlet, and estuary. They know all too well that if I’m in the water then fish are too.”

“Most anglers just want the plain truth about fishing techniques and that's what I offer. There have been fishermen under my tutelage that have hooked into fish fifteen minutes after hitting the water. When you know what to do it makes fishing a whole lot of fun.
All of my premises of fishing are scientifically based but that doesn’t take away from the thrill of the catch and the harmonious balance of experiencing the outdoors. Satisfied outdoorsmen are the happiest people on earth.”

Find the best holds before a single cast is made.
I'm taking the time to read the water to find the best spots to fish before making a single cast. There is a hold directly in front of the bank I'm kneeling over, but because of the logs position fishing from this side of the river is not possible. However, taking the time to scout out the best spots, like this one, is worth the effort when that first strike comes. Since this reach of water is isolated and straight there is an extremely high probability that there are fish clamoring to hold here to rest before moving upriver...it's a great place to start the day.

“Salmonids, and other anadromous species, are very adaptive and can respond to pressure faster than we can blink our eyes. They have the advantage of instinct and we have the advantage of intellect.
A fisherman with a stick, string, hook, and bug can catch a fish, so if you’ve got more than that then you’re going to have some really good stories to tell. I've fished all over and am astounded at the consistent behavior of these amazing fish. Done correctly, fishing can have a profound and positive affect on every facet of your life. You're going to love it.”

Light line gets more strikes than heavier test.
There is a large salmon battling on the end of the line. I hit into her in the deep fast water of this river reach. Water speeds can vary greatly from the surface to the bed of the river, which is why it's important to "read" water. Knowing how to decipher river surface disturbances aid fishermen in figuring out what gear to use, how large it should be, and how much weight should be used to achieve an optimal presentation. It might seem slightly overwhelming at first, but like all art forms, it gets easier the more time is spent on the water. Using proper techniques I was able to land this fish by "tailing" it without ever leaving the river...it's an advantage over other fishermen that keeps me actively fishing as others fumble around with their gear.

“With a Camera on my back I'm ready to snap of a quick shot before releasing the fish on the end of this tight line back into the blue. That’s how fishing is. Adventures are born in the span of a split-second and you have to be ready for them. A heart-pounding battle on the water will warm the coldest hands. A hike in the woods gets the heart pumping and the circulatory system firing on all pistons. The health benefits are too numerous to list, but be assured that every time you head outdoors you’re doing exercise and that’s always good for the body. The mind, soul, and spirit soon follow which then brings alive passion for the outdoors and thus creates a way of life that is truly content.”

Four separate seasons (Autumn, Winter, Summer, Spring) with four fish representing thousands of fish caught within a very short period of time!
